PETER ANTKOVIAK II

Peter began practicing law in Allegan County as an assistant Prosecuting Attorney. He has the distinction of prosecuting a first degree murder trial within his first year of practicing in Allegan County. Peter transitioned to private practice in 1976. He is a seasoned attorney whose skills as a legal advocate and generosity as a person are well-known throughout Allegan County. He has successfully represented clients in Allegan for over 5 decades. His areas of practice are extensive and have covered almost every facet of the law in Michigan.
Peter was born in Cheboygan, Michigan in 1943 on a family farm of second-generation immigrants from Posen, Poland. After High School, he served in the United States Army from 1960-1963. After military service, including two and a half years overseas, Peter returned to Michigan and attended Michigan State University and graduated in 1967. Thereafter, he earned his law degree from the Detroit College of Law and passed the Michigan Bar Exam in 1971. Peter has been happily married to Nancy Antkoviak for over 55 years. Together they raised 5 children. Both his sons followed in their Father’s footsteps, becoming lawyers and thus creating the family business (One has since departed to serve as Circuit Court Judge). Peter enjoys outdoor activities such as hunting and fishing. He is also a trained electrician and a self-professed “handy-man”.
